Sierra Club Hike - Guilford Courthouse National Military Park
Date/Time: Nov. 8 at 1:00PM. Approximately 2 hr in length.
Where: Meet at the Old Battleground Road unpaved parking lot.
Dog and handicapped friendly. Dogs must be kept on leash.
Description: Join us on Sunday, November 8, at 1:00 p.m. for a 3.5-mile hike through Guilford Courthouse National Military Park. We'll follow mostly paved paths, taking in the park's historic monuments and learning a little about the Revolutionary War battle fought here. We'll also visit the historic Hoskins Farm and stop by the nearby Veterans Memorial to see its newly installed Vietnam-era helicopter.
The hike will be at a relaxed pace, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the history and surroundings. Afterward, those interested can join us for an optional walk to nearby Ozzie's Ice Cream Shop for a well-deserved treat. Come enjoy an afternoon of history, outdoor activity, and good company!
