  • The Pleasant Garden Community Recycling Event is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Pleasant Garden Community Center — 5024 Alliance Church Rd. — where residents can recycle appliances and electronics, safely dispose of medications, shred personal documents, and donate nonperishable food for local pantries.  Rhino Times

  • After recent closures shook the local dining scene, restaurant owners are betting on Greensboro's growth. Joseph Ozbey will launch Solo Taco at Revolution Mill with taste tests beginning next week — his new space will serve street tacos and pizza in a family-friendly setting next to a brewery.  WFMY

  • A targeted attack hit a synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, prompting Rabbi Andy Koren of Temple Emanuel in Greensboro to say his community remains united and vigilant as they offer support to a close colleague and pray for safety today.  WXII 12

CULTURE NEWS

  • Greensboro will host a reenactment of the historic Battle of Guilford Courthouse at Country Park on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. to mark the 245th anniversary of the Revolutionary War battle fought on March 15, 1781 (according to park ranger Thomas Sobol).  WFDD

  • Greensboro’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience released its 2025 Annual Progress Report, which showed that energy audits, tree canopy assessments, and fleet studies helped reduce waste and set the stage for municipal operations to run on renewable energy by 2040.  Rhino Times
