  • Guilford College will end its decades-long Bryan Series on April 8 with actress and activist Ashley Judd as the final speaker, a change driven by declining subscriptions & financial challenges. The series shifted from free talks to a subscription model when it moved to Tanger Center in 2022.  WFDD

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City crews are working after multiple water main breaks closed the northbound lanes of North Josephine Boyd Blvd — between Benjamin Parkway and West Wendover Avenue — in Greensboro, leaving roughly 50 people without water. Officials expect the lanes to reopen by 10 p.m. tonight.  ABC45

HEALTH NEWS

  • Smoke from wildfires in southwestern North Carolina and northwestern South Carolina is expected to create code yellow and code orange air days in Greensboro today and through Saturday. Officials report that the Black Cove Complex fire in Polk County has burned over 3,228 acres with 17 percent containment while smoke from other fires may worsen air quality for those with breathing concerns — residents are advised to limit time outdoors.  WXII 12
