- ➤ Gov. Stein increased funding for substance abuse treatment centers, allocating $5 million (three Triad facilities will share the funds) to expand local health services. The initiative will support better treatment access statewide. WFMY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has invested $5.7 million to improve substance abuse services by funding 12 organizations, including NC Survivors Union in Greensboro, Benevolence Farm in Graham and Insight Human Services in Winston-Salem. - ➤ Four North Carolina cities are among the nation’s worst for spring allergies based on pollen counts and allergy medication use. Raleigh ranked seventh, Winston-Salem nineteenth, Greensboro twenty-second and Durham 48th, urging residents to take precautions against allergen exposure. WXII 12
