  • The Central Carolina Spring Fair opens today at 5 p.m. at the Greensboro Complex, offering free admission and $20 unlimited ride wristbands. It launches two weeks of family fun with a midway, games, rides, food, and Kids & Dollar Days on April 11, 15, 16, and 18.  ABC45

  • UNCG opens summer camps this season (including music, art, STEM, and sports programs) for local kids and teens at its campus and Piney Lake. The sessions aim to build creativity and confidence through hands-on lessons and performance opportunities.  UNCG

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Colorado State University experts released an April forecast showing activity that is near or below average for the 2026 Atlantic season starting June 1. The outlook predicts 13 named storms, six hurricanes and two major hurricanes, with a 54% chance of a storm passing within 50 miles of North Carolina and further updates expected.  WXII 12
  • A statewide burn ban remains in effect amid severe drought and increased wildfire risk, leading Triad event organizers to cancel the fireworks portion of the Kernersville 155 celebration — officials warned that violations may incur fines.  WFMY

  • North Carolina A&T Athletics Director Earl Hilton III is stepping down after 15 years as his contract ends this summer. University leaders announced a nationwide search for his replacement (Hilton will remain in the role until a new candidate is named).  WFMY
