Good morning, Greensboro.

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department held a ribbon cutting at Cairn's Course Saturday morning to celebrate the new downtown greenway.

The 4-mile loop connects neighborhoods to public art, wellness and open green spaces and featured live music, circus performers and food trucks for families.

The city of Greensboro opened its new 4-mile downtown greenway (after 25 years of planning) to offer a dedicated route for walking and biking in key parts of the city.

Residents can now enjoy a scenic outdoor avenue that links important downtown areas.

Protesters gathered in Greensboro today to oppose a Supreme Court decision that they say may restrict voting rights, and Tanneshia Dukes warned the ruling could lead to unfair redistricting and disenfranchise Black voters.

Guilford EMS has received approval to use whole blood in the field to treat select trauma patients — specially trained paramedics will administer the life-saving treatment on scene, expanding emergency care in the community.
