  • The family of 17-year-old Daniela Trejo Mendiola in Alamance County remains upset after Joshua Thomas Brown pled guilty for a hit-and-run that killed her on August 20 near Oak Grove Church Road in Liberty—they plan to speak in court on June 30 to demand more accountability and a stricter sentence.  ABC45
  • A reported shooting occurred Monday around 2:30 a.m. at Broad Avenue and Omaha Street, and a victim with non-life-threatening injuries was taken privately to Moses Cone Hospital—police have not found any suspects and are investigating the incident.  ABC45

  • Piedmont Triad International Airport displays four painted jean statues near baggage claim that show themes like wildflowers, native landscapes, and the horned owl—each piece honors Greensboro’s legacy as the birthplace of Wrangler denim. The statues are part of a public art project started by Wrangler in 2015 that invited local artists to paint blank denim templates for a permanent collection featured on a self-guided walking tour.  WFDD
