- ➤ Greensboro police launched an internal investigation after a video showed officers and Casey's Towing employees in a tense exchange on June 7 at a High Point apartment complex when business owner Anthony Broadway said his driver felt intimidated over a dispute on towing signs — police confirmed no arrests were made and later stepped back after legal advice — and Broadway expressed concern that his team was deeply affected. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Guilford County Board of Education approved closing four elementary schools — Madison, Vandalia, Washington, and Southern — to use taxpayer dollars better and realign resources. Madison, Vandalia and Washington will close in the 2026—2027 school year while Southern will close in the 2027—2028 school year, and affected students will move to other schools with families given at least one year to adjust.
