Good morning, Greensboro.

JetZero will build its manufacturing facility for the future Z4 passenger jet at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, promising 14,560 jobs and $4.7 billion in capital investment.

The jet is expected to have its initial test flight in 2027 and enter commercial service by 2030 — a milestone record for the region.

JetZero has announced plans to build a new production facility in Greensboro to produce its blended-wing-body plane for testing in 2027 and create nearly 15,000 high-paying jobs—local experts warn this growth could strain housing and other services as demand increases.

Economic benefits will start immediately, but experts say it may take up to 10 years to see the full impact on the local economy.

JetZero will build its new factory at Piedmont Triad International Airport—set to create nearly 15,000 jobs in Guilford County and bring billions of dollars in economic impact—with a $4.7 billion investment and Governor Josh Stein set to make a formal announcement at 1 p.m. today.

JetZero will arrive at Piedmont Triad International Airport to launch the Greensboro airport project and create at least 14,560 jobs — with a $4.7 billion investment planned over 10 years.
