- ➤ At its meeting on June 17, the Greensboro City Council approved an $831 million budget for the fiscal year starting July 1 and ending June 30 that shows a 3.5 percent increase while keeping property taxes steady at 67.25 cents per $100. The budget funds public safety programs and upgrades to water mains, sewer lines, roads and bridges as well as housing initiatives and economic development projects—laying out a clear plan for the coming year.
