- ➤ A Greensboro man, Jut Kopa, 27, was charged with first-degree murder after his 52-year-old mother was found dead in their home on Monday afternoon during a welfare check on Sunrise Valley Drive—neighbors said he usually kept to himself—and he remains in detention without bond as he awaits a court appearance on Sept. 3. - ➤ Tuesday, the Greensboro City Council voted 9-0 to rezone a 6.6-acre property at West Friendly Avenue and Hobbs Road for a new mixed-use development featuring retail space, a boutique hotel, and an underground Bee Safe Storage facility. Roy Carroll, founder of the Carroll Companies, said the project is designed to attract high-end small shops, reduce traffic, and a groundbreaking date will be announced soon. FOX 8
