  • A local rescue group has introduced Tiny, a small pet now ready for adoption—neighbors are encouraged to help find it a caring home.  WFMY
  • A local animal rescue—introducing dogs Lilo and Stitch—is asking neighbors to adopt them and give them a new home. The shelter said the pair are ready for adoption and hopes community members will help find them caring families.  WFMY
  • Guilford County Animal Services in Greensboro is asking community members to donate towels that are used every day for animal baths, cleanups, and comfort—ensuring the shelter can care properly for the pets. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter, located at 980 Guilford College Road, daily from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.  WFMY

CRIME NEWS

  • Greensboro Police are investigating the death of 2 year old Er'Mias Mitchell after he underwent a dental procedure at Valleygate Dental Surgery Center on Thursday morning—family members said he was seen at 6 a.m. before being rushed to the emergency room.  WFMY

  • Twenty-nine candidates filed for nine seats on Greensboro City Council, and voters will elect a new mayor along with at least three new council members in the upcoming election.  News & Record

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Guilford County Division of Public Health is urging parents to update their children’s vaccines before school starts — the county will offer kindergarten immunization appointments this summer at its Greensboro and High Point centers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — and families can schedule these appointments by calling 336-641-3245.  ABC45
