  • A temporary Family Justice Center pop-up has opened in Greensboro because the main center remains closed while crews repair damage from a recent fire.  WFMY

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash on Tuesday morning closed all eastbound lanes between Dellwood Drive and Lafayette Avenue on West Cone Boulevard—police said drivers should avoid the area as authorities work to determine the cause.  FOX 8

CRIME NEWS

  • Greensboro police confirmed that an unlicensed care home on Moody Street—run by Hazel Forman—has been shut down after 74-year-old Larry Burton, who has dementia, went missing on July 3 and his family continues to search while a $5,000 reward is offered for tips.  ABC45

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After a fire damaged the Katie S. Cashion Center, the Guilford County Family Justice Center opened a temporary office at the Guilford County Courthouse at 201 S. Eugene St. in Greensboro on Tuesday, July 22—this site will operate weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until the center is safe to reoccupy.  Rhino Times
  • The Greensboro Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request to rezone a 1.3-acre property in the Starmount Forest neighborhood for a luxury townhome project with ten units. The decision follows a lawsuit by residents over a similar project—if appealed, a public hearing will be held on Aug. 19.  WFDD
  • Guilford County DA questioned the city's decision to end its inquiry into former City Attorney Chuck Watts—arguing that the handling of his case raised concerns.  News & Record
