  • North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of anyone involved in the 2017 Greensboro murder of Jacqueline Thompson—who died at Moses Cone Hospital on Sept. 19 after an overnight shooting at a home on East Gate City Boulevard, which detectives said was not random.  WXII 12

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers overrode Gov. Josh Stein’s veto this week to pass the Power Bill Reduction Act—removing the 70% emissions-reduction target and allowing Duke Energy to charge customers upfront for new power plants. Supporters say the law will modernize energy infrastructure—while critics warn it may lead to higher electricity bills as state officials plan next steps.  FOX 8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Mount Zion Baptist Church announced a partnership with Novant Health to expand healthcare access in Southeast Greensboro—starting with a mobile clinic and telehealth kiosk this year and planning to convert part of the church into a multispecialty clinic in three to four months.
