COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Greensboro Parks and Recreation held Teen Night events throughout the summer—featuring skating, laser tag and pool parties—to give teens a safe way to have fun and connect with friends while staying out of trouble. Coordinators say they will offer similar activities during the school year to keep kids active and engaged.  WXII 12

CRIME NEWS

  • Starting soon, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office will install StarChase VX vehicle-mounted GPS tags on patrol cars—these tags will let dispatchers track speeders and fleeing vehicles without engaging in dangerous chases. If the trial using federal forfeiture funds proves successful, more vehicles will receive the system.  YES! Weekly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Core Technology Molding Corporation is hosting a nonprofit STEM camp in Greensboro that gives youth hands-on career experience by offering practical technology and engineering lessons to prepare them for future careers.  WFMY
