- ➤ The Greensboro Grasshoppers honored fallen officer Michael Horan during their Saturday game against the Greenville Drive by wearing custom jerseys that feature a clover logo—representing his Irish heritage, as well as his service in the Coast Guard and police. The jerseys will be auctioned online to support his family. WXII 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Teachers in Guilford County visited the Teacher Supply Warehouse to buy supplies for their classrooms as the new school year began—many spend hundreds of dollars of their own money. The warehouse served over 1,100 teachers in 11 shopping days and distributed more than $175,000 in supplies to support classroom needs. ABC45
- ➤ North Carolina A&T State University welcomed new Aggies this weekend when residence halls opened on Saturday—returning students will move in on Monday ahead of classes starting on Wednesday. The school is hosting events through next week to help students adjust and reported nearly 52,000 applications, keeping it the largest historically Black college for the 12th year in a row. WXII 12
