NC A&T police are investigating shots fired overnight near the Deese Clock Tower during a large, unofficial student gathering—no one was injured as AggieAlert! issued a warning and officials noted that two people discharged weapons without targeting one another.

A state report showed that manufacturing lost nearly 9,000 jobs over the past year while overall unemployment stayed at 3.7 percent in July—shutdown plans by Howard Miller and PVH Corp added to the loss.
