- ➤ The City of Greensboro’s Solid Waste and Recycling Department will host its first Mighty Machines event on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the White Street Landfill on 2503 White Street; the free event will let families climb inside large vehicles, watch live demonstrations, and enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the Greensboro Police Department’s grill team — registration is required due to limited space.
