  • Hundreds of Greensboro leaders met at the Koury Center for the 2025 State of Our Community event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, celebrating local wins and honoring groups such as the Greensboro Swarm and Eastern Guilford High School—while discussing future projects including JetZero’s $5 billion investment that is expected to create 14,500 jobs.   • The Atlantic tropical season slowed this week due to dry air—experts warn that this calm is temporary and that up to five hurricanes could develop later, so Greensboro residents should stay alert as the season continues through Nov. 30.  WXII 12

  • Greensboro City Council will privately review the unredacted bodycam footage of a May 14 traffic stop on Sept. 4 and release it publicly with redactions after three weeks.   • Former Dudley High standout Hendon Hooker was released by the Detroit Lions earlier this week and signed with the Carolina Panthers practice squad—he played football from 2015–17 and now returns home to add depth to the team's quarterback roster after recent cuts.
