  • This week the Triad will host several free events including movie nights in High Point and Winston-Salem, a live artistic showcase at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and community activities in Greensboro such as a folk fest, Rock The Block, Walk & Roll Fest, and karaoke at Grandover Resort—while live music will take place at Wise Man Brewing on Sunday. CULTURE NEWS

  • Funeral services for civil rights pioneer Joseph McNeil will be held today at his alma mater, North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.—Bishop William J. Barber II will deliver the eulogy while additional services are set for Hempstead on Sept. 8 and Wilmington on Sept. 12 and 13.  WFMY
