Good morning, Greensboro.

In 1914, Greensboro passed a segregation ordinance after white residents objected when a Black teacher bought a home in a predominantly white neighborhood — protests and a petition pushed officials to act.

The North Carolina Supreme Court later nullified the law, and a historical marker in Winston-Salem will note the case that set a precedent for local housing rules.

WFMY News 2 said that the NC Folk Festival will boost Greensboro's economy as local businesses expect more sales and visitors — a sign that festival spending will support community growth.

The report noted that this increase in activity is expected to benefit local vendors and tourism.

The Triad gained eight new DMV examiners — Forsyth and Guilford counties gained two each and Alamance, Davidson, Davie and Randolph counties gained one each — to help cut wait times.
