- ➤ Bur-Mil Park will host its 21st annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5834 Bur-Mill Club Road in Greensboro. The free event will feature more than 50 vendors, a Kid’s Zone, hayrides and food trucks—providing a fun day for families. Rhino Times

- ➤ The National Hurricane Center warns that a system expected to become Tropical Storm Imelda later today may bring heavy rain and dangerous flooding to North Carolina beaches—Hurricane Humberto remains a powerful Category 4 storm in the Atlantic. Local residents are advised to check evacuation routes and prepare emergency kits as forecasts update the storms’ tracks and intensities. WXII 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Greensboro Police said N. Church Street — between Berryman Street and Bach Terrace — is closed because of a water main break and crews are cleaning up while drivers are asked to avoid the area since there is no timetable for reopening. WXII 12
- ➤ Gov. Josh Stein declared a State of Emergency on Saturday—preparing state agencies to respond to heavy rains and potential flooding from Tropical Depression Nine in North Carolina. Emergency Response teams and the National Guard are set to support local efforts as conditions remain uncertain. WXII 12
