- ➤ The City of Greensboro activated White Flag warming centers as temperatures dropped into the 20s; First Baptist Church on West Friendly Avenue offered shelter Monday evening from 7 p.m. to Tuesday morning and is set to reopen Tuesday night until 7 a.m. for continued protection. WXII 12
- ➤ The Guilford County Sheriff's Office has launched a holiday food drive that runs through Nov. 19 and asks residents to drop off nonperishable items at sites in Greensboro, High Point, Summerfield, McLeansville and Jamestown. Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ABC45
- ➤ Greensboro City Council changed the name of the Barber Park Event Center — now the Yvonne J. Johnson Event Center — to honor former Mayor Yvonne Johnson, the city’s first African-American mayor who served from 2007 to 2009. The council also unveiled a plaque to mark her legacy, and her family said this renaming was a fitting tribute. WXII 12
