- ➤ City officials will permanently close the Davie Street Parking Deck on Monday, Nov 24, and have closed West Sycamore Street through Dec 31, which has led to confusion among drivers and a drop in business sales downtown. - ➤ Chris Wilson, a UNCG graduate and manager of government affairs at Cone Health, recalled his childhood visit to Bur-Mil Park during his talk at UNCG on November 13. - ➤ The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Old Guilford County Courthouse at 301 W. Market St.—to gather input before approving a $300K incentive grant for Project Ticket, a company planning a $30M investment that would create 99 jobs if it enters a formal economic development agreement. Octave Foundation will host a Baseball Development Camp and scholarship fundraiser at Greensboro Batting Center providing elite training for 60 to 80 young athletes in grades 5 to 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a Meet & Greet from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., which will fund scholarships for inner-city student-athletes.
