  • In Greensboro, bride Kiara Burton spoke for the first time about the loss of her husband, Tyrek Burton, who was fatally shot outside their wedding at Barber Park Event Center on October 12 — police say the shooting was linked to a road rage incident and no arrests have been made.  FOX 8
  • A high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel was arrested Tuesday in Nogales, Arizona—Emmanuel Martimiano Leon-Soto, 42, now faces a life sentence for drug trafficking and up to 20 years for money laundering if convicted after a November federal indictment tied to North Carolina operations.  FOX 8
  • Gov. Stein has offered a $25K reward for tips on the 2022 cold-case murders of John Boone and Jaykaylen Chambers, with High Point Police Chief Curtis Cheeks stating detectives believe public information may solve the case—investigators continue their work.  News & Record
  • Kulzun Clark, 35, pleaded guilty to accessory to first-degree murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle (charges stemming from the 2019 death of 21-year-old Aaron Thomas in a parked car) and will serve up to nine years in prison.  WXII 12
  • Krista Ann Lay, 39, of Greensboro pleaded guilty on Monday to death by distribution of fentanyl and other drug related charges linked to the death of a 23 year old Austin Guthrie on April 19; she received a sentence of 60—84 months in prison marking the city’s first conviction of its kind according to Guilford County District Attorney Avery Crump.  FOX 8
