- ➤ The Guilford County Board of Education voted on July 23 to name its new visual and performing arts elementary school Peeler-Hampton Visual and Performing Arts Elementary School. The school will open in the fall on Randall Road at the site of the tornado-destroyed Peeler Open Elementary and honors Rev. Silas Peeler and Dr. William Hampton. WXII 12

- ➤ On July 11, Judge Sean Jordan ruled that the plan to stop most medical debt from appearing on credit reports was not allowed—leaving hundreds of consumers in Forsyth and Guilford counties, including many Greensboro residents, facing higher credit costs. The decision means that the CFPB rule will not protect borrowers from medical bills affecting their credit scores. News & Record
